Criminal case was initiated regarding prohibited drug sale

Recorded appeals of citizens about illegal sale of drugs that have a strong effect in some pharmacies operating in the capital were investigated in Baku city Prosecutor`s Office.


According to the Baku city Prosecutor's Office and Baku city Main Police Department, during the investigation, the seller of Bizim Aptek, operating it at A.Hagverdiyev str.74 d, Yasamal district, Baku city by Baku city inhabitant without a license (special permit) for pharmaceutical activity was found to be illegally selling drugs called Tramadol 200 mg, which was considered to be a powerful substance that does not belong to drugs or psychotropic substances, in the form of split pills without a relevant prescription.

Regarding the fact, Baku City Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Article 240.2.2 (illegal resale of powerful substances that do not belong to drugs or psychotropic substances) and Article 192.1 (illegal entrepreneurship) and assigned conducting an investigation to Investigation and Examination Office of Baku city Main Police Department.

Currently investigation regarding the case is underway.

Measures are continued to be taken in regard with identification and prosecution of people involved in illegal trafficking of substances that have a strong effect by means of complete, comprehensive and objective investigation of information spread about pharmacies selling that kind of drugs in various mass media, as well as social networks.
