Cooperation between the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates has been discussed

The delegation led by Ramil Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Colonel-General, is on the business trip in the United Arab Emirates from 28th March to participate in the International Forum “Unity for Security” held in Abu-Dhabi with the organizational support of “Interpol” and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE, made an opening speech in the event which started on March 28 under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said that the conference would contribute to strengthening of the international cooperation in the field of law enforcement, especially would create favorable conditions to consolidate international efforts in combating against transnational organized crime.    

The conference attended by the ministers of internal affairs and justice and senior police officers from a number of countries aims to discuss determination of challenges of the modern era, joint combat against regional and international security threats that may arise, obligations of different countries in this respect, and global police structure. Coordination of efforts in the fight against terrorism, cybercrime, the crime acts against cultural heritage, the criminal offenses related to traffic accidents, illegal drug trafficking and smuggling and further development of the relations between ministries of internal affairs, police and security bodies of different countries and other instant problems on cooperation will be in the spotlight.  

Within the framework of the international conference, Ramil Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Colonel-General, met with Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani colleague for accepting his invitation and participation in the forum. He especially stressed expansion of cooperation in all fields between our countries in recent years.  

Ramil Usubov thanked for official invitation, hearty reception and warm hospitality shown to his delegation and said that thanks to the close friendship between the Head of our nations, mutual visits and the documents signed at the highest level the bilateral relations have developed successfully and dynamically especially in recent years. In this context, the Minister recalled his visit to the UAE, approximately ten years ago. He noted that the current visit would help further development of the cooperation between the relevant bodies of our countries.

Then R.Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs, visited the Head Office for Enforcement and Special Purpose of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the UAE and got familiar with the activities of this body and technical support made to the special forces of this country.   
   
Within the framework of his business trip Ramil Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Colonel-General, met with Abdulla Khalifa al-Marri, Police Chief of Dubai. 
During the meeting exchange of experience and cooperation issues in the field of provision of security and public order were discussed. Abdulla Khalifa al-Marri expressed his satisfaction related to the visit of the Minister of Internal Affairs to the UAE and his participation in the final of the security courses of Dubai police officers. He said that he wishes further expansion of the relations in the relevant fields.

Mr. Minister R.Usubov highlighted that Azerbaijan shows great interest in learning the rich experience of the UAE Police and that such visits would contribute to further strengthening of the joint cooperation.
