On February 10, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part on the event of various structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and commissioning of new vehicles, purchased for employees of traffic police and equipped with modern equipment, held on Azadlig square.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, general colonel Ramil Usubov gave a report to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev.     

During the last years, appropriate events related to effective organization of the work of the whole traffic police staff, protection of road traffic on a higher level. At present, as a result of high attention and care of the President Ilham Aliyev, implementation of forthcoming obligations, challenges, held for more effective organization of works, activities of the employees raised on qualitatively higher level either in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in other law enforcement agencies. Great number of works for improvement of material and technical equipment were held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, new technical facilities are being purchased. New vehicles of “Fiat Doblo” and “BMW” car brands, purchased for the employees of post-patrol service, police control room and rapid intervention police regiment, as well as of traffic police, hold a prominent place. In general, 400 vehicles are purchased for the employees of traffic police, and 300 vehicles – for the employees of other structures. Each vehicle is equipped with new and modern equipment; e-patrol system is installed. This system functions when you stop or drive the vehicle of traffic-patrol service (TPS). Number reading cameras, infrared lighting of 30-meters area for night viewing and GPS module are installed in the system. The motor car has internal computer facility for the number reading process.

The system with the help of number reading cameras is able to detect numbers of the vehicles, which are moving or stops 2 lanes to the right, 2 lanes to the left from the lane where motor car of TPS is. Moreover, also numbers of vehicles parked to the right and to the left perpendicularly to motor car of TPS. Information about vehicles with numbers and speed read by the system of e-patrol with indication of date, time and GPS coordinates are archived in central server. Also, information about whether this vehicle is in tracing, long-term delay in payment of penalties and other information is requested in real-time operation mode and transferred to the on-board computer, installed on the motor car of TPS. Information on transport vehicles, exceeding a speed limit, sent to central informational center of the Main State Traffic Police Department.   
                      
It should be added that for the last period of time reconstruction of traffic infrastructure, construction of new roads, bridges, underground passages in the country under the direction of the President Ilham Aliyev, call traffic police, as well as traffic patrol service to be more responsible, organize road safety on a higher level. Because, the growth of number of vehicles in the country naturally causes challenges in road traffic. Provision of state traffic police with new technical facilities in meant for elimination of these factors. And this gives opportunity for more reliable provision of road safety on new motor cars.                               

It should be noted that 20 minibuses of “Mercedes” car brands were purchased for transportation of detained people.         

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed purchased new minibuses as well.
