Solemn ceremony dedicated to the graduation of 2019-2020 academic year was held at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on July 2 - on the day of Azerbaijani police.
Based on the information of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov took part in the event.
The participants of the event commemorated national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, and police officers who fell as martyrs during the fulfilment of the duties for our sovereignty and territorial integrity with a moment of silence. Then national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
The Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, speaking at solemn ceremony, congratulating teachers and students of the Academy on significant day, informed that the Graduation day is unforgettable event that scars the memory, at the same time, it is the beginning of new life and more responsible and honourable activity are waiting for the graduates ahead.
It was noted that after the getting back our state independence, in view of serious need in police personnel, the Police Academy was established based on Baku special secondary school of police and it was awarded the status of a higher educational institution of the first degree. Further development of the Academy is associated with the name of great leader and our respected President Ilham Aliyev; over the past years, its material and technical base has been significantly strengthened, and a modern infrastructure has been formed.

Recalling the thoughts expressed by dear Mr. President in honour of the 100th anniversary of the police related to the growth of professionalism in Internal affairs bodies, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov said that education of new generation of Azerbaijani police, distinguished by modern thinking, patriotism and other moral qualities, adequately responding to new calls, having modern outlook in the achieving set goals are the success of the teachers. 
The Minister noted that in modern age of Internet, in digital world, it is impossible to do without high knowledge and skills, that, with this purpose, the Academy has created all the conditions for improving intellectual level of cadets, teachers make maximum efforts in special theoretical, physical and psychological training of future police officers, along with the formation of high professionalism of the cadets, the level of efforts to instil such moral values as national spirit, patriotism, humanism, officer pride, which now are very important.

Mr. V.Eyvazov particularly noted that, despite the difficulties of the pandemic period, employees of internal affairs agencies successfully perform corresponding tasks in the field of implementation of social isolation measures which have been applied since March 14, that, despite increased work regime, each police officer, acting within the law, provides assistance to people, helps in solving their life problems, is responsive to appeals, and that society is responsively and gratefully meets their steadfastness in the fight against the offenders.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Vilayat Eyvazov, on behalf of the participants of solemn ceremony, assured the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander of Armed forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev that young officers, who joined our ranks, will also make worthy contribution to reliable protection of order and safe life of our people, completely fulfil the duties established and tasks set by the government.
The Chief of the Police Academy, police Major-General Nazim Aliyev, made a report on performed work on the improvement of the training and education process and further strengthening material and technical base at this higher education institution.
He assured the Minister of Internal Affairs that they will continue to work hard and spare no effort in their knowledge and skills to completely meet the highest level of requirements, orders and instructions for further improving the training and education process, attracting qualified specialists to this work, educating new generation of the police officers who are able to work professionally with information technologies, and training qualified personnel who generally meets the calls and threats of modern period.
At the end of the event, the Minister of Internal Affairs presented diplomas and shoulder marks of special rank of "police senior lieutenant" to graduates Ata Valiyev, Muhammad Rzayev, Nurlan Yusifov, who graduated from the Police Academy with honours.
Police lieutenant Nurlan Mirzayev drove symbolic memorable plaque.
Then the Colours were handed over to the 4-year students. The students performed the "Police of Azerbaijan" march. 
At the end, the staff walked with sure steps in front of the stands.
