In order to prevent the wide spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Republic of Azerbaijan the medical and preventive measures are being taken. Despite these measures, the infection is rapidly spreading throughout the country.
According to the report of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, however appropriate disinfection and other preventive measures are being taken, currently the metro as an enclosed space creates favorable condition for the spread of the virus due to the lack of natural ventilation. Meanwhile, the non-compliance of the requirements of the distance and quarantine regime by the passengers in Baku metro is also observed.
The movement of trains in Baku Metro will be suspended from 22:00 (GMT+4) on March 31 to April 20, 2020 in order to ensure the safety of public health.
Passengers will be transported by regular and express buses in Baku.
