Officers from the 8th Police Division of the Sabail District Police Department continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution. Acting on received intelligence, law enforcement carried out an operation that led to the arrest of 20-year-old Parviz Jafarov, who has a prior conviction, and his 22-year-old acquaintance, Chingiz Rahimov. More than three kilograms of heroin and marijuana were found in their possession and seized.
The detainees stated that they had been recruited as drug couriers by Iranian nationals, whose identities are currently being investigated. They were allegedly planning to deliver the narcotics to various addresses in exchange for payment.
A criminal case has been initiated, and the investigation is ongoing.
