The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, received the Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Serghei Diaconu, who is on a visit to our country.

Welcoming the guest, Minister V. Eyvazov noted with satisfaction that relations and mutual relations between Moldova and Azerbaijan are deepening. Noting that stability, which is one of the main factors determining the rapid development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent years, has been created and its irreversibility has been ensured, the minister said that full control over the criminogenic situation, restoration of stability, first of all, favorable conditions have been created for our citizens, as well as foreigners, to live and work in our republic in a safe and secure environment.

V. Eyvazov noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of relations with the law enforcement agencies of Moldova, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, both in a bilateral and multilateral format. The normative-legal base of these relations is based, first of all, on mutual legal assistance, exchange of experience and interstate agreements.

Serghei Diaconu, who expressed gratitude for the warm welcome expressed confidence that such visits would give a new impetus to the further expansion of cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries, that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova would spare no effort in this direction and was interested in studying the positive experience of its Azerbaijani counterparts in the field of combating crime and ensuring public order.

During the meeting, priority areas and prospects for cooperation, the fight against drug trafficking, as well as other types of transnational organized crime, the intensification of information exchange, as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Moldova Gudsi Osmanov also attended the reception.

During the visit, S. Diaconu visited the “102-Call Center” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the “Safe City” Service and the Separate Rapid Police Unit and got acquainted with the activities of these institutions.
