20 more people were detained by the officers of Khatai District Police Department during operations carried out against illegal drug trafficking in “Ahmadli”, “NZS”, “Hazi Aslanov”, “Kohna Gunashli” settlements, Mahammad Hadi Street, Ganja Avenue and other areas of the district over the past week. Several of those detained have been previously convicted of drug trafficking. A large amount of different types of drugs was found from those persons. Detainees said that they acquired the drugs online for their personal use and to sell them in Khatai district.

The collected materials related to the facts were sent to the Investigation Department of Khatai District Police Department (DPD). Criminal proceedings have been initiated against each of these persons.

In general, 112 people engaged in the illegal drug trafficking have been detained during the operations carried out by the officers of Khatai District Police Department during the month of September, and criminal cases have been initiated against them and necessary investigative actions are being carried out. Police officers continue operations to detain other persons engaged in illegal drug trafficking in the territory of Khatai district.
