A criminal case was launched in connection with the fact that the bodies of Rahila Jalilova, born in 1947, and her granddaughter Aygun Azizova, born in 1989, with multiple stab wounds were found in their apartment in Yasamal district of the capital 18 years ago - on April 26, 2004 under Article 120.2.7 of the Criminal Code (120.2.7. murder of two or more persons).

As a result of operational-search measures and investigative actions carried out, there were reasonable suspicions that Anar Aghalarov, a resident of Baku, convicted under Article 234.1 of the Criminal Code and currently being treated at the Specialized Treatment Center of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, committed the crime.

During the initial interrogation, A. Aghalarov admitted that he had committed the incident together with his cousin, the late Teymur Mammadov.

Necessary operational-investigative measures are being taken on the criminal case.
