Students' anxiety: "Don't let our dreams be unrealized..."

At ADA University a video-film named "Don't let our dreams be unrealized" was presented on road safety.

The officers of the Main Police Department of Baku city, academic staff, executive board of the University, and the students attended the event coinciding with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims celebrated on each third day of November. 

Praising significance of student project Hafiz Pashayev, the Deputy Foreign Minister, the Rector of the University, spoke about the necessity of a sense of social responsibility in the community, and the importance of the issue. He stressed that thinking about his/her own lifestyle a person should respect the laws of the society and be responsible in order not to violate others' rights. Noting main aims of the program on social responsibility taught students at the University Hafiz Pashayev called on young people to take an active part in the public life.

Ulkar Karimli, the second-year student of the Department of Business Management at the University, the author of the project idea, made a speech in the presentation. Ulkar Karimli said that each member of the society should be responsible regarding the cases threatening people's public safety and should follow public policy in
order dreams not to be unrealized and human destinies not to be wasted. Ulkar Karimli noted that main aim of this project creating social responsibility was comprehension of duties in road safety by traffic participants.
Statistical results of the inquiry attended by approximately two hundred students, young people's information about traffic accidents and traffic behaviour, were presented in the event.
Analysing the importance of this idea brought forward and realized by a student the Police Colonel Vagif Asadov, the Section Chief of the State Traffic Police Office of the Baku city Main Police Department, noted that the situations on the roads were mostly associated with the responsibility of drivers and pedestrians, and the formation and training of behavioural skills for safe life were paid special attention. In this respect, not only the traffic police, but also each member-traffic participant of the society should perceive his/her own duty. The Police Colonel emphasized that most traffic accidents happened due to high speed, hitting of pedestrians by cars, passing through crossroads, and violation of overtaking and manoeuvring rules.

Shafag Mehraliyeva, the Chief of Staff of the University, drew attention to importance of students' idea in comprehension of social responsibility in the society. She said that regardless his/her public position each citizen should struggle against the problems threatening the society.

Efforts of Ulkar Karimli, the second-year student of the Department of "Business Management", and team members-Ulvi Mutallimov, Aydan Bakhshaliyeva, Lala Namazova, Metanet Akberli, Sadig Salimzade, the students of the Departments of "Economy" and " State and Public Relations" in the realisation of the project were praised.  It was stressed that dramatic conception of the video-film recorded with the talented students' participation was to explain people to live more responsibly by touching their emotions. In the event Baku city MPD STPO, “BakuBus” LLC, “Jam Media Azerbaijan”, “Marshall Studios”, “10P Marketing Agency” were expressed gratitude for their contributions to the organization and realisation of the project. In the end, the students' questions were answered.
