Traffic Police held raids in Baku

19.08.2017

Raids held by the officers of State Traffic Police Department of Baku City Main Police Department in order to ensure traffic safety and public tranquility in the capital are continued. The latest raid held in the capital was mainly directed to the drunk drivers, drivers who do not obey the “stop” order of the police officers, threat the lives of other traffic participants by committing reckless driving acts and other violations.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs a driver of a “Mercedes” branded car stopped in the territory of Narimanov district for drunk driving during the raid, trying to avoid the responsibility had fled leaving his vehicle behind. And the relative of the driver did not hesitate to attack the police officers with stone.

There were younger children in the vehicle of the drunk driver as passengers. And this means that the traffic police saved that family from a huge disaster by identifying and suspending him in a timely manner. It is because the driver sitting behind the steering wheel under the influence of alcohol increases the risk of an accident.

Another drunk driver was detained in Nizami district during the raid. The relevant protocol was drawn up about the owner of “Lexus” branded automobile because he had driven the vehicle in a drunken state. Drivers who committed reckless driving acts by not obeying the “stop” order of police officers were also identified. One of those drivers was detained in Khatai district as a result of taken measures, in spite of his efforts to run away with his “Daewoo” branded automobile by not obeying the police. It was determined during investigation that the driver, Minar Gahramanov had driven his vehicle drinking alcohol. Although the driver was taken to the medical station in order to determine the alcohol level in his blood, he refused to be examined. If the driver refuses to be examined in order to determine the alcohol level in his blood, it directly proves that he was sitting behind the steering wheel under influence of alcohol and a protocol is drawn up about him.

Riders disturbing people from their rest at night time by installing additional amplifiers to their motorcycles were also detained during the raid. While detaining one of such motorcycle riders, Nadir Rzayev, it was determined that he has made his state number plate of the vehicle by rule of thumb. Drivers who did not pay their electronically set penalties were identified during the raid, and the appropriate measure was taken about them. In general, administrative protocols were drawn up about more than 350 drivers and seventy vehicles were placed at a protected temporary penalty station.

Raids held by State Traffic Police officers against the drivers who commit serious violations within the territory of the capital city will be continued  on a regular basis.
