A person who stole a woman’s purse in Nasimi district was arrested.

 While resting after duty in the “Zabitlar baghi” next to his home, Police Major Arif Habibli, duty officer of Khatai District Police Office, saw a person picking the purse from a woman’s handbag on the bench, who was busy with her two babies, throwing it inside from the collar of his shirt and runnings away. The police officer immediately ran after him and managed to catch that person. He reported the case to the concerning Police Department No 21 of Nasimi District Police Office and handed over that person to the operations team members arriving on the scene.

It was identified that detainee is Baku resident Anton Chernov in the result of the urgent operational measures undertaken by the police officers. The purse with 829 manats, ATM cards and documents stolen by A.Chernov was returned to the victim.

During investigations it was also revealed that A.Chernov has left the flat, in which he was living temporarily, without paying the rent however stealing 2 air-conditioners, a washing machine, refrigerator, combi boiler, stove, TV set and phone from there.

A criminal case started on the fact. A.Chernov’s participation in other crimes is being investigated.
