During the Islamic Solidarity Games traffic safety will be provided by 1,200 traffic police officers

General Director of the Baku Transport Agency, Chairperson of the Coordination Board for the Transport System Management and Regulation during the IV Islamic Solidarity Games Vusal Karimli and the Chief of the Main Department of STP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major-General Ramiz Zeynalov met with drivers of vehicles allocated for the transportation of athletes participating in the IV Islamic Solidarity Games.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that a great work was carried out to prepare the games under special attention and with the care provided by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as under the leadership of First Vice President, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games Mehriban Aliyeva. As they reported, our country and its capital are fully prepared to receive and host the Games at the highest level.

Head of the Public Relations and Enlightenment Department of the Baku Transport Agency Mais Aghayev said that Major-General Ramiz Zeynalov recommended the drivers involved in transport operations during the Games to strictly follow the traffic rules, at the same time, to act with a truly civil position in the performance of the mission entrusted to them. The head of department reminded the drivers that they had a great responsibility for ensuring road safety. He brought to the attention that in this case, drivers will be supported by road patrol officers. Road safety and tasks on accompanying of high-level delegations will be provided by 1,200 road patrol officers on 400 special vehicles.

The Director General of the Baku Transport Agency, Vusal Karimli, brought to attention all the necessary measures in the direction of the timely implementation of the high-level transport activities commissioned by the Operational Committee of the Games. The Director General noted that the organization of transport operations and ensuring the safety of transportation during the Games is primarily dependent on the performance of certain tasks and functions by drivers at a high professional level and with full responsibility. "Another important moment from the point of view of worthy accomplishment of the assigned tasks, along with professional skills, is the feeling of patriotism. To ensure that the IV Islamic Solidarity Games remained in the history of Azerbaijan as another bright victory and to contribute to the transformation of these Games into a big sporting event, we must make joint efforts with a genuine civic stance. And in these competitions it is the moral duty of each of us to raise the authority of our country carrying out the tasks entrusted to us with dignity, putting friendship and solidarity in the first place. Regardless of the position we hold today, each of us is a part of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games and it is very important. I think it's an honor to be part of the Games" - Vusal Karimli said.

Vusal Rajabli, the Head of the Transport Department of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games' Operational Committee, said that the transport system of the capital was fully prepared for "Baku-2017" due to the coordinated activity of the relevant state structures.

At the meeting, the questions of drivers were answered, and the instructions were given on the immediate removal of obstacles which may arise during the transportation of athletes.
