In our country, the fight against drug addiction and illicit traffic in narcotic drugs is considered to be a national priority. To this end, the police officers hold a meeting with teachers and students of secondary schools operating in the capital, make recommendations, advices on the implications of drug addiction disturbing society.
The event on the theme "The healthy life and the fight against drug addiction" held on November 29 in the high school number 244 of Binagadi district of the capital, was attended by the employees of Baku city MPD, district police, educators, veterans and students of secondary school.
At the event, stressing the importance of the fight against the "white death", which became the disaster of humanity, it was told about the importance of the fight against drug trafficking. It was brought to attention that each police officer is making efforts in the fight against such facts, creating a basis for drug addiction, trying to eliminate them.

At the event, the Head of the Office of the Public Safety Department of Baku city MPD, police lieutenant-colonel Maryam Omarova stressed that in the fight against drug addiction, which is a terrible evil, not only state activity, but also activity of every member of society is important. Our independent republic for more than 20 years, together with the international community and the leading countries of the world provides prolonged and targeted steps towards solving this problem. Head of the Office noted that over the years various works were carried out in the field of prevention of drug addiction, our country has acceded to the international conventions, implemented programs adopted by the government.

Addressing the event, chairperson of the district council of veterans, retired police colonel Zakir Ahmadov said that the events of educational nature are periodically organized in the district. Describing drug addiction as the most common form of transnational crime and social disease that knows no age boundaries, he said that in general Azerbaijan made serious efforts to combat types of transnational crime.
Due to the fact that it is impossible to fully identify people involved in the acquisition, purchase and taking drugs, an organization of public control and the reactions to it, as well as prolonged holding of legal education in schools are of importance.
An employee of the Main Drug Enforcement Department, police captain Nail Omarov addressed the legislative requirements regarding narcotic drugs, mentioned the risk of the drug addiction spreading for healthy society.

He said that in the fight against drug addiction parents and teachers, as well as labor groups are attached important tasks.
During the event, held in question and answer form, the school principal Yahya Abbasov spoke about the importance of communication between the police and school to protect adolescents from harmful habits - drug addiction and brought to the attention the need for joint activities of the public.
Finally, the police officers listened to the participants, gave detailed answers to the questions of interest to students and teachers.
